Mechanical properties and microstructure of Al-Cu alloy processed by SLM
Original language description
Paper deal with comparison of mechanical properties and microstructure of aluminium alloy EN AW 2618A prepared using Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process and of material of the same grade processed by extrusion. It was found that defects present in microstructure of SLM material significantly affect its mechanical properties. when 0.2% proof stress was 191 MPa, UTS was 208 MPa and elongation at the break was 0.6 %, whereas measured values for extruded state were substantially higher: 0,2% proof stresswas 273 MPa, UTS = 392 MPa, elongation at the break = 13.7 %.
