Application of the genetic algorithm for analysis of input parameters of WEDM technology for TI-6AL-4V
Original language description
Selection of optimum values of machine setting-up individual parameters, as they are gap voltage, pulse on time, pulse off time, wire speed and discharge current, is maximally critical during the Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) in order to increase process performance. Main performance characteristics of WEDM process include in general: material removal rate, width of kerf, surface roughness and dimensional precision. This study deals with finding optimum parameters of the machine setting-up with the use of genetic algorithm (GA) in order to minimize the surface roughness, be specific the area parameter root mean square height (Sq).
