Development of an adaptive top-of-rail friction modification system
Original language description
This work describes a development of a control system for top-of-fail friction modification based on on-board application. This adaptive system is used to evaluate an appropriate application amount and interval according to a position on the track using a GPS data. The parameters take into account actual operating and weather conditions. The main part of the work presents an experimental approach to determine an appropriate TOR FM amount and application intervals depending on operating conditions. Laboratory scale test rigs are used in this study.
