The Investigation of the Influence of Modern Coating Applied to the Cutting Inserts During Machining
Original language description
This article deals with benefits of PVD and CVD coatings applied to cutting inserts during face milling of low-alloy Cr-Mo steel DIN 42CrMoS4 with constant cutting conditions without using process liquid. The aim of this experiment was to compare coated and uncoated cutting inserts clamped in the milling cutter and find out the benefits of PVD or CVD coatings during face milling. The monitored parameters were force load and flank wear.
