Process Integration and Intensification for Sustainable Evolution via Resource and Emission Reduction
Original language description
The main goals of process analysis and optimisation have clearly been set on sustainable development – ensuring sufficient supply of goods and services for the smooth development of the economy and society, while reducing energy demands together with the related emissions and effluents to levels, which are feasible for the Earth. Process Integration (PI), which is one of the critical tools for achieving that goal, has become an established way of thinking, unifying the various methodologies for improving the environmental and economic performance of process systems and other activities. Combining PI with Process Intensification is also a proven multiplier of these effects.
