Lie Symmetry Analysis of the Charney-Hasegawa-Mima Equation
Original language description
The Charney-Hasegawa-Mima equation is introduced to describe the motion of large-scale waves in a rotating frame of reference. Using the infinitesimal method, Lie point symmetries of the CHM equation are derived, and the corresponding transformations are interpreted geometrically. These results can assist in understanding the structure of the solutions obtained for the CHM equation.
