Original language description

This paper addresses intra-frame contour compression methods, especially in the context of low-bit rate object-based video coding algorithm. Contour data is analysed, and the data compression opportunities are examined. Three methods of contour codin g are described: 1. contour coding algorithm based on cubic B-spline approximation, 2. continuous wavelet transform based contour coding and 3. contour coding using Hermite cubic polynomials.
