Domonant Points Detection in Contour Images Using Continous Wavelet Transform - Experimental Study
Original language description
A dominant point detection method is presented on two-dimensional contour images. A continuous wavelet transform is applied on parametric representation of contours. The dominant points are detected automatically by thresholding of the wavelet coeffi cients. Forty types of wavelets were tested on a several test images. The detected points were used as control points for the next polynomial interpolation. The described method is invariant under geometric transformations and it is suitable for an o pen orclosed contours.
