Ethernet Interface for Industrial Application
Original language description
The paper describes development of two Ethernet interface modules that can be used to extend existing devices with Ethernet interface. The first module together with special driver creates virtual RS-232 interface so any standard software designed to communicate over RS-232 can be used over Ethernet/Internet to interface with a device. The second module allows to collect data from a device over RS-232/RS-485 and to visualize the data using embedded HTTP server. The user can load custom HTML pages into tthe embedded HTTP server so the device can be tailored to specific needs. Moreover the HTTP server supports scripts and server-side includes so the access to the data from the devices is very flexible. Both described modules are based on Rabbit 2000 microprocessor, which assures balanced cost and performance for intended applications.
