High Speed Communication Through RS-232 Interface

  • Original language description

Maximum standard baud rate of the RS-232 asynchronous serial interface on PC computers is 115 200 bps. Many devices that have at their disposal only asynchronous serial interface, however, enable the communication at higher speeds (up to 1 Mbps). In suchcases the maximum baud rate of the serial port is greatly restrictive on the computer side. A possible solution is realizing a converter between the parallel and the serial interface.
