Original language description
The wavelet-type signal analysis has recently been a much used discipline, whose range of applications spreads steadily. Two of its most important applications are signal denoising and data compression. In these areas, so called thresholding is an important technique of signal processing. Selected methods of thresholding and their statistical properties are introduced in this paper.
