Segmentation Of Ultrasound Images Using Active Contour Method
Original language description
Ultrasound images are a special kind of medical images. From the signal theory view it is a signal damaged by noise, especially speckles, which are a different kind in compare to common noises. There are also low contrast and vague edges in ultrasound images and common criteria and techniques for segmentation of ultrasound images are unusable. This contribution is oriented on using active contour method in process of segmentation of ultrasound images. These techniques support combination of severall segmentation methods as well as import information from another part of signal processing into the segmentation process.
