Recently, we have used an approximate method of partial characteristics to evaluate the radiation properties of pure SF6 arc plasmas. Our data of radiative heat transfer have been widely used for modeling of a switching process in high power circuit breakers with SF6 gas as an insulation and quenching medium. In this paper, we extended the data for Cu vapor contribution. We present net emission coefficients which take into account vaporization from Cu contacts. We treated various mixtures of SF6 and Cuwith 1%, 5% and 10% of Cu admixture, respectively. It follows from the results that Cu vapor contributes to the higher radiation emission.
