The paper describes the application of algorithms for edge detection in images. The principles and algorithms given below have been used in an application that was developed at Brno University of Technology and has been programmed in the Microsoft VisualC++ environment. In the development, the Win32 API and MFC libraries were made use. In the application, any of the eleven implemented algorithms can be used for edge detection.
