This paper deals with the electromagnetic-circuit design of an electric machine (3-phase synchronous generator). The classical calculation is innovated with genetic algorithm. This algorithm controls the classical procedure of the synchronous machine design. It tries to find out the best solution in a set of required parametrs. This innovation helps to find the required solution in much shorter time or to find out quite unexpected combination of calculated paramters.
