Filtered MultiTone modulation
Original language description
Today Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) and Very high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) technologies are using an MCM realization called Discrete MultiTone modulation (DMT). In the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) terrestrial transmission complying with IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11g and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) a very similar modulation called OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is used. In the paper, a filter bank modulation technique, called Filtered MultiTone (FMT),, is presented.FMT is a MultiCarrier Modulation (MCM) alternative to the currently used Discrete MultiTone (DMT) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) techniques.

Czech description
V součastné době se v technologiích Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) a Very high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) požívá realizace MCM nazvaná Discrete MultiTone modulation (DMT). V bezdrátovch technolgiích WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network)dle IEEE 802.11a a IEEE 802.11g a technologii DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) pak OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). V tomto článku bude popsána modulace pomocí banky filtrů - Filtered MultiTone (FMT). Jedná se o alternativní typ víccetónové modulace (MCM) k dnes běžně používaným víceónovým modulačním technikám Discrete MultiTone modulation (DMT) a Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM).
