    This paper describes one part of the digital data compression of multimedia transmission system research. The whole research is focused to encoding and decoding process of MPEG-1 standard. MATLAB is used for simulation of mathematical calculations. The part, which is describes in this paper, is focused to the problems of decimation of masking components for MPEG-1 Simulation.
