Quantum information is a rapidly developing field and this article reflects only a small part of it. An application of quantum information theory is in new technologies like ultimate safe cryptography and quantum computers. For this, there is a need to control the quantum states. In the article there is given an introduction to the quantum information theory. We concentrate our attention on the question what is quantum information if it is a new kind of information or not. Hence we are interested in commpatibility between quantum and classical information.

Obor kvantové informace je velmi se rozvíjící teorií. Její uplatnění lze nalézt v nových technologiích jako je kvantová kryptografie a kvantové počítače. K tomuto účelu je nutné umět kontrolovat kvantové stavy. Zde se soustředíme na otázku, zda je kvantová informace nový typ informace nebo ne. Zajímáme se tedy kompatibilitou kvantové a klasické informace.
