HEAD POSITION SENSING USING MEMS ACCELEROMETERS
Original language description
Presented paper deals with description of a device intended for use in patients head position monitoring after vitreoretinal surgery. Keeping the head in an optimum position is crucial for the whole recovery process to proceed well. A design utilizing modern MEMS acceleration sensors and a powerful RISC microcontroller was created. Application of high-level programming language made the whole development process as effective as possible. The main effort led to a compact battery-powered device capable ofwarning the patient in case of wrong head position.
