The full version of the paper contain all the latest DVB's standards overview with the proper references to the standards ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). All the main standard transmission links (satellite, cable, terrestrial transmission) will be compared and discussed. The paper will also include practical comparison of the DVB standards application in education of master's degree students at Brno University of technology, Institute of Radio Electronics. The research and educational laboratory was built in years 2003 - 2007 with the budget of approx. 160 thousand EUR and covers source, channel and link coding principles in DVB and laboratory transmission and measurements of RF signals in DVB-S/S2/C/T/H/MHP standards.
