Numerical Modeling of a Linear Multiconductor Transmission Line with Nonlinear Loads

  • Original language description

The paper deals with the numerical modeling of voltage and current waveforms on transmission lines with nonlinear loads. It will be considered the linear Multiconductor Transmission Line (MTL) only. The propagation of the voltage and current waveforms issolved numerically in the time domain. The new numerical approach based on the Finite Difference method in Time Domain (FDTD) was used. The applicability and suitability of the proposed method in a mentioned case on the MTL are demonstrated on an illustrative example. The new algorithm based on FDTD was programmed in Matlab language. The results obtained using described simulation give very important information for a design of new MTLs.
