Original language description

The paper deals with the maintenance policies of power electrical equipments. At first, the basic classification of maintenance types is described. The following part of the paper deals with optimization maintenance methods: Approaches based on mathematical models, Reliability Centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance. The final part of the paper is focused on the condition monitoring of power transformers. Big power transformers are one of the most important devices in electric power systemand correct work of these devices is one of the pri-orities for providing continuous power supply. Condition monitoring could be very useful and helpful tool to avoid transformer breakdown or downtimes and to operate transformer in an optimal fashion. The most accu-rate and reliable solution would be combination of several methods, because every method has own limitations. Eco-nomic view on the final solution has to be also taken into account.
