Original language description
Electrical machines with permanent-magnet excitation are widely accepted in traction drives. Prediction of performance and ability to operate in field weakening mode relies on determination of machines parameters. However, the magnetic circuit of embeddedpermanent magnet machines behaves inherently nonlinear due to saturated bridges holding magnets in the rotor structure. Then the Finite Element Analysis plays an important role. The paper focuses on determination of machines parameters using FEA and includes comparison between analytical and FEA-obtained results.
