Comparison of some mathematical models for MTL transient and sensitivity analysis
Original language description
The paper compares two basic approaches how to determine sensitivities of voltages and/or currents along multiconductor transmission lines (MTL). First continuous models are formulated in the (s,x) and (s,q) domains via one and two-dimensional Laplace transforms, respectively. Second a semidiscrete model is presented, based on the connection of generalized PI sections in cascade while processing its chain matrix in the Laplace domain. After incorporating boundary conditions by using generalized Théveninequivalents of the MTL terminating networks the numerical inverse Laplace transforms (NILT) lead to the solutions in the time domain. Finally the error analysis is performed considering a Thomson cable with known analytical solutions, and some examplesof MTL sensitivity determination are presented. All computations have been performed using the Matlab language.
