This paper describes numerical modeling in the process of calculation of illumination by combination ray-tracing method and principles of propagation electromagnetic waves. For this method, a numerical model was prepared. The numerical model was createdin the MatLab program environment. The laws of electromagnetic waves were applied in performing the calculation. The reflection and refraction are calculated accordance with Snells law for electromagnetic waves. The results obtained in the numerical model were experimentally verified. Acquired experimental results are portrayed and compared with the results of numerical modeling. Based on the obtained data, the conclusion to the paper then presents an evaluation of the ray-tracing method applicability for the numerical modeling of lighting systems.
