Near-field techniques allow computing of the electromagnetic field which surrounds the measured antenna. For this purpose, the knowledge of the field on an arbitrary surface has to be known. Standard near-field techniques are based on the measurement ofthe complex (amplitude and phase) field, while method described in this paper exploits only amplitude measurement and suitable phase retrieval method for the reconstruction of the phase. The validity of the method was performed by a numerical example involving a phase retrieval problem on the cylindrical surfaces.
