Original language description
The first part of the paper deals with the determination of main parameters which are necessary for modelling of a five-phase induction machine with a cage rotor. In case of feeding by unbalanced voltages, the influence of higher space harmonics on properties of a five-phase motor is demonstrated by means of the results of the numerical modelling of a single-phase and a two-phase short circuit in no-load operation. The paper compares the results of solutions for machines with an insulated node of the stator winding (when the first and the third spatial waves are applied only) with the results of a simulation in the case when the node of winding is connected with the node of a feeding source. In this case, the fifth spatial harmonic considerably influences the situation in the machine. The presented results of the simulations clearly show the necessity to consider higher spatial waves of the current layer, flux density and flux in the yoke.
