    Composition of Electric Arc Plasma with Copper Vapours

  • Original language description

    The electric arc discharge between copper electrodes in air as well as carbon dioxide flow was investigated. Plasma temperature was obtained by Boltzmann plot of several copper spectral lines. Electron density was calculated from the width of spectral lines broadened by Stark effect. On the basis of these plasma parameters the calculation of the plasma composition was carried out by solution of the equations of perfect gas, charge neutrality, Saha and Guldberg-Waage at atmospheric pressure in the assumption of the local thermodynamic equilibrium. More detailed equilibrium composition was calculated by minimizing of the Gibbs energy of the system, too.
