Paper deals with problematic of the decrease of the electrical machine running costs. There is presented sliding contact with Teflon application in parts of the brush gear and partial results of research cooperation between the Faculty of electrical machines and general electrotechnics at the Omsk State University of transport and communication, the Department of Power Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication at the Brno University of Technology inOmsk power station SP ETP-5.
