IMPACT OF MODELLING AND IDENTIFICATION OF PERMANENT MAGNET MACHINE PARAMETERS ON ITS CONTROLLABILITY
Original language description
One may find nowadays electrical machines with permanent-magnet excitation in various applications, mainly due to their superior power density and efficiency. However, certain topologies of these machines may introduce nonlinear features into their magnetic circuit. Then Finite-Element Analysis is a convenient tool to refine models of such machines. Synchronous Machines, particularly with embedded-permanent magnets relies on power-electronics control in terms of practical operation. The paper further investigates impact of nonlinear magnetic circuit on controllability of such machines. The selection process of a control strategy needs to assess a nonlinear machine model in order to deliver requested torque and meanwhile, maximize overall torque production.
