    Simplified model of an axially cooled arc

  • Original language description

    The model is based on solution of conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy, respectively supplemented with generalized Ohm`s law. Solution of the above equations follows from a several simplifications which influence the final results. Final solution is applied to individual parts of the electric arc thus creating two iterations, inner and outer. The iteration method results in known distribution of temperature, electric intensity and voltage across the plasma jet, mass and enthalpic flow within the both arc plasma column and cold surrounding zone. Computer code for the above iteration method has been created using C++ Builder. The code has integrated both text and graphic output of the arc plasma parameters.
