Cascade and Independent Malfunctions and Damages of Safety Systems in Terms of a Nuclear Accident
Original language description
The work is focused on the investigation of the reliability of eletric and non-eletric facilities which is important for the nuclear safety in Dukovany nuclear power plant (EDU). The reliability of selected facilities, especially the diesel generator, has been examined since 1998 until now. On the basis of the facilities' reliability a demonstration scenario of malfunctions and damages has been created. The chronology of the facilities' malfunctions and damages was set thus it would lead to the black-out of the self-consumption reactor block and the radioactive substances would escape into the area of power plant. On the basis of the created scenario a nuclear accident is being simulated using application 3D model EDU. Main task of the scenario is to show a low probability of such events. Furthermore, the scenario indicates the possible health risks of people working on the restoration of supply systems of diesel generators or reserve transformer directly in the radiation area.
