Original language description
The paper concerns the localization of wireless nodes based on measurement of power level of received signal. This measurement suffers from several effects that negatively influence the measurement and make difficult the distance estimation between involved nodes. Therefore, this paper describes the main ideas of received signal strength (RSS) localization and the propagation of radio signal. There is also an overview of phenomena called RSS uncertainty with its effect on RSS measurement. To investigateRSS measurement for the purposes of localization, measurement testbed was proposed and designed.
