Original language description
This paper deals with the development of VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) softphone in Java language. The first two chapters include the present state in the field of VoIP, the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), the networks using this protocol and the basic scheme of voice call. The second part of the article is about a development a new softphone in JAVA language. The Java Media Framework is used for audio compression and multimedia data transmission while some parts of JAIN SIP library are used for signalization. The last section of the paper deals with upgrading the developed VoIP softphone, and with the future work.
