Petri Nets in Expert Systems
Original language description
This paper deals with the possibility of using Petri nets for creating expert systems' knowledge bases. The basic properties of Petri nets are presented along with the structures used for their description - structures that may be used in expert system implementation, e.g. the coverability root tree. The differences between the two main expert system types - diagnostic and planning - are discussed. A way of creating knowledge bases for diagnostic expert system using Petri nets with inhibitors is brieflyshown. A method for creating planning expert systems is proposed and discussed on an example.
