Filtration of samples for secondary surveillance radar
Original language description
Air navigation service in the control zones and terminal maneuvering areas typically uses the information from the secondary surveillance radar. Secondary Surveillance Radar operates based on the cooperation between two devices which are the interrogatorand on-board transponder. Interrogator repeatedly asks a specific code on narrow directional radio beam and transponder usually responses the address or squawk/alpha number that is set on the transponder. In the process of identification of the airplanesome incorrect information can be received by the receiver. Typical problem is receiving of echoes. Echo duplicates the correct mark of the airplane into the incorrect position. Two methods for echoes recognition are suggested in this paper.
