Original language description
The paper deals with ultrasound image de-noising methods. Firstly, the speckle noise phenomenon in ultrasound images is described. Then, various methods for the reduction of such noise are presented such as Kuan, Lee, and Frost filters, SRAD. Moreover, the improvement of Kuan method is proposed that is based on algorithm suggested by Lopes [1]. All presented methods and the proposed one were tested on synthetic and real ultrasound image data. Testing with synthetic images allows us the precise quality comparison of particular methods, but the results are slightly dependent on chosen noise model. Thus, the tests were also performed on real data, which will show the suitability for practical usage.
