Properties and numerical simulation of phase change material
Original language description
This text deals with the application of phase change materials (PCM) for example for thermal management of integrated circuits as a viable alternative to active forced convection cooling systems. The paper presents an analytical description of melting and freezing process, an analytical solution of CaCl2.6H2O phase change in 1D and the results of a numerical model of phase change. The numerical model joins thermal field, air flow with respects to material phase change. This numerical model was obtainedby means combined of the finite element method (FEM) and finite volume method (FVM) applied as main method in ANSYS software. Another contribution brings the results obtained by numerical modeling of a reactor chamber design. The reactor chamber is intended for the preparation of oil. The chamber is designed for the operating frequency f = 2.4 GHz with regulated microwave power. The power regulation allows the optimization of heat distribution in non-homogenous material with respect to c
