This paper deals with the measurements of digital video and image quality and its evaluation in the digital TV transmission from satellite via DVB-S/S2 standards. The DVQL metric of video quality evaluation developed by Rohde & Schwarz for video compressed with MPEG-2 was used for the measurements. The paper also contain short summary of measurement method and interpretation of video quality measurements based on satellite signal of CS Link packet of Czech TV programmes from the satellites ASTRA 23.5 EAST.
