this article deals with principle of PCF (Photonic Crystal Fiber) and its application. The comparison with conventional fibers is shown. Nowadays, commercially available Photonic Crystal fibers are listed. The simulation of Photonic Crystal Gaps for different one dimensional structure with using of Plane wave expansion method is done. The influence of Photonic Crystal Gap on the layer width is discussed. The parameter gap-midgap ratio is described.
