Geolocation of nodes in the Internet
Original language description
Localization is a method of finding the position of a node. For many applications it should be useful to know the location of a node on the Earth. We can consider GPS system as the first and dominated public localization system used for localization purposes. But localization can be also obtained using different systems and conditions. IP networks are widely spread and provide different principles from GPS which can be used for localization. Delay parameter (RTT) is used nowadays in the most network algorithms and this paper presents new localization algorithm inspired by GPS system using IP networks instead of satellites.
