SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF URBAN TRAFFIC FLOWS WITH ALTERNATE ROUTES
Original language description
There are numerous approaches leading to increase in throughput of the existing route networks. However, only few have been investigated in detail. This article examines a frequent city traffic situation - decreases in throughput of a main route and useof alternate routes. For proper analysis it is essential to choose a suitable traffic simulator. To do so, set of simple scenarios (experiments) is created and used to test the capabilities of the SUMO traffic simulator. Each experiment is focused on a specific problem. Based on results of these experiments a new simulator TRASI (TRAffic Simulator) combining traffic and vehicular communication simulation is introduced.
