    The paper deals with the topic of image registration. Image registration is an important operation in image processing. Registration accuracy has essential importance for the quality of further processing of images in e.g. 3D processing. The paper provides a novel approach using pseudo-color representation of an image. Pseudo-color representation offers high contrast in images. That means the optimization works with more information and should allow for more reliable results. This paper provides tests with different methods of the pseudo- coloring. Experimental results performed in this work show that this approach is reliable.
