Original language description
The paper is aimed at wavelet based medical image de-noising. An experimental approach to the searching for the best noise reduction settings (depth of decomposition and thresholding properties) that leads to objectively the best results is proposed. Searching for the best setting of the noise reduction method is considered as an optimization problem solved by using evolutionary technique. The proposed method was experimentally tested and the resulting noise reduction parameters were found for three different families of wavelet functions (Daubechies, Symlets, Coiflets). De-noised images were compared mutually and also with many common used methods for noise reduction.
