USING OF NUMERICAL METHODS TO SIMULATE THE COOLING OF ELECTRIC MACHINES

  • Original language description

This project deals with the air cooling of electric machines, is focused on synchronous generators with salient poles. For correct the thermal analysis by these machines it is important to determinate the air conditions inside the machine. These ratios were determined by using ANSYS, that it is based on the finite element method. Main of this project is to investigate the distribution of coolant to the stator radial channels, which provides better cooling of the windings of the machine and dependence passing through the media to position rotor. Results obtained in this project can be used for the design of electric machines with salient poles
