The article deals with the use MATLAB to detect images in the image. Shadows are detected in images obtained active profilometry (fringe pattern projection). Detection facilitates further steps to be performed for creating depth maps, which is the output of the procedure. They proposed two methods for detecting shadows. Both of them make use of specific active profilometer used in combination with passive stereometric method.
