APPROXIMATE DESCRIPTION OF RADIATION TRANSFER IN THE ARC PLASMAS OF SF6 AND PTFE MIXTURES
Original language description
The objective of the paper consists of the approximate description of radiation transfer in electric arc plasma. The first order of the method of spherical harmonics (P1-approximation) has been used as the way to solve the equation of radiation transfer. Calculation has been performed for plasmas of SF6, PTFE and their various mixtures at the plasma temperatures in the range of 300 – 35 000 K and pressures from 0.5 to 5 MPa. Main radiation quantities, namely radiation flux density and its divergence, have been determined in cylindrical arc plasmas for a model temperature profile. To simplify the calculation, the complicated frequency dependence of absorption coefficients has been handled by means of various averaging methods. Planck and Rosseland mean values have been determined for different splitting of the frequency interval.
