The influence of speakers emotional state on the gender recognition process
Original language description
The recognition of speakers gender is a crucial issue for many applications, such as media retrieval, human-machine interaction systems and monitoring of call centers. This task is usually performed with high accuracy (usually more than 90%); however, there are several factors that might influence this accuracy, like the emotional state of speaker. Thus, this paper is devoted to closely study the effect of this factor on the gender recognition process using a speech database of spontaneous telephony speech.
