Performance Analysis of IMS Network: The Analytical Solution of Signalling over IMS Core Elements.
Original language description
The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), sometimes called as IP Multimedia Core Network Subsystem, is consid-ered a solution to convergence of mobile and fixed technolo-gies. This Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture is also a part of Evolved Packet Core(EPC) standards. The primary goals of this article are a design of an analytical model for signalling over IMS network and investigate the relationships between main performance parameters and behaviour of IMS core network elements. There are the various modelling techniques of mathematical description of whole network or network elements. In the case of this paper, the queueing theory is used to describe and represent whole IMS core architecture included CSCFs (two P-CSCFs, S-CSCF, I-CSCF) and HSS nodes. The paper briefly presents the IMS network, a designed mathematical model of queueing network and then the graphical results of mathematical network model, mainly the performance parameters such as a utilization etc. Finally, the most
