Analysis of brain connectivity in simultaneous EEG/fMRI
Original language description
Functional magnetic resonance imaging utilizing the blood oxygenation level dependent effect as an indicator of local activity is a very useful technique to identify active brain regions. Currently, there is a growing interest in studying the connectivity between different brain regions. This contribution summarizes the approach of enhancing the fMRI analysis by fusing EEG data processing with fMRI statistical analysis. This leads to a more precise localization of the specific active areas, which mightbe the initial regions for analysis of effective brain connectivity using the dynamic causal modelling. The technique is tested on the simultaneously measured dataset EEG/fMRI.
